I'm a thirty-something part-time writer and full-time daddy. It wasn't until I was twenty-five that I realized I wanted to be one. So I allow myself a little slack for just now really getting started in my career. Being left handed I guess I have a tendency to do things in an order backwards to what most consider the norm. Over the past decade I became a father first, husband second, a rookie reporter third and finally a college graduate.

My adult life started in the right direction; push play Junior High, High School and four years with the Navy. I started college with the intent of being an engineer and a scientist for NASA. I had gone to Space Camp as a teen and worked as a meteorologist for the Navy. I dreamed of adventures in the stars, and then some unknown force hit the pause button. The Navy dropped me like thousands of others with too little or too much time in service for the purpose of down sizing and my University in a budget crunch cut my program and disassembled most of my department.

Then like a paused DVD I lay helpless, motionless for a time until the unknown force discovered the shuffle button on my remote jumping me from the third act my prodigy, the second act my beloved wife and journalism and finally back to the first act of an adult life and my college education. Now like some snot nosed twenty-two year old I find myself at the beginning of a career again, but with the wisdom that comes with age like some hybrid of David and Solomon I have the pompousness to take on a giant, but the voice inside my head that says run mother-fucker run. So here I am running, now I just need a place to run to.
